Title: "The Big TE Issue..."

A PDF "Google Vomit" was given out a while ago. Then it
came out again under the name "Big Brother."

you can get the report here:
http://www.futureinternetmarketing.com/GoogleVomit.pdf

Basically, it says that if you use search engine scrapes then
you are a stupid bastard and all your sites will get
delisted faster than Paris Hilton on prom night. But that's
only half the story...

I use search engine scrapes all the freaking time, and I
always will. However, there are a few rules I've created to
make sure the benefits are maximum, and the down-side is
minimized.

First off, for those who don't know what "scrapes" are, they
are basically a copy of all the text on the search engine
results pages.

Traffic Equalizer, a popular page generating program, uses
scrapes. It searches whatever search engine it happens to
use (I dunno what it is) and grabs the URL, title and
description for the top results, then imports that into the
page that is based on that particular keyword.

Here are my rules:

1. NEVER use links with the scrapes. All
you care about is the title and description. There is
absolutely no reason to add links to the websites in the
scrapes.

- If you do use links, you are creating a backlink for a
potential comptitor.
- If website owners visit any of the
sites that link to theirs, they will often complain that
they don't want their website listed on websites like what
you are creating (don't take it personally). I've actually
received lawsuits from some very anal companies. It was
simply a matter of taking down the offending page, but
what a waste of energy in the first place.
- It's a complete waste of pagerank.

Yes, it's possible to create links using javascript, but
that requires extra work, and there is no reason to have the
link in the first place.

In Traffic Equalizer (here on abv. TE), just completely
ignore the %URL% token.

2. Change templates for every single site that you create
pages for.

So many people use the same shitty templates that come with
TE or other page generating programs. Search engines caught
on to those templates a long time ago, and you will get
delisted quickly.

You need to fully grasp that TE is based on tokens. Once
you fully understand that TE will put the scraped page title
where ever the %TITLE% token is, the page's description
where ever the %DESCRIPTION% token is, and the page's
keyword where ever the %KEYWORD% token is, you are all set.

Build the page to look however you want, and unique at that,
and stick those tokens where ever you want the scraped
content to appear.

Do a search for "free templates" and you'll find a shit load
of free websites you can grab and tweak for your own
purposes.

There is nothing magical about the templates that come with
TE -- in fact, using those templates is a BAD idea.

3. Don't use the scraped content as CONTENT!!!

99% of the time I stick the scraped content in a table that
is pushed 600-800 pixels below the stuff I actually want
people to see. Things like email opt in forms, adsense ads,
a quick ad for another site of mine I want people to go to
with a "click me" link, etc.

Get this through your skull: the only purpose of scrapes is
to help qualify the page for ranking for the keyword it is
being optimized for. In TE, every single keyword gets a
page created for it, and the program grabs scrapes based on
that specific keyword to put in that specific page.

The text that is gathered in the scrape is PERFECT for
acting as supporting text to help the page rank for the
keyword the page is based on, but it is NOT suitable as
"content" that humans see -- so don't let people see it
immediately.

4. Only gather a max of 10 results for the scrapes.

Gathering more is a waste of the webspace you are paying
for. If your page doesn't rank well using 10 scrapes as
supporting text, it won't rank any better with 15 or 20.

5. Be creative with the %TITLE% and %DESCRIPTION% tokens.

For one template, put the description token before the title
token. Then in the next template, put the title token in a
paragraph tag, and the description token below it in a list
tag. Be creative and put them in changing orders and
inbetween various kinds of tags.

6. Import actual "content" using iframes. You can display
other html pages inside of the TE html page using iframes
(inline frames). And since the content is shown through an
iframe, it doesn't affect the keyword density of the TE
page.

Google "iframe code" or something similar to learn more.

7. Use DIV tags to have the scrapes HTML code right below
the body tag, but at the very bottom of the page when people
look at it in a browser. Google "div positioning tag" to
find some tutorials on how to do this. It really comes in
handy.

8. Fuckin' learn HTML damn it.

The more you know, the more creative you can be. And using
creative templates in page generating programs that use
scrapes, or not, will pay off big. Sure, you CAN skate by
without learning HTML, but if you want to be a pro at
internet marketing you should learn the language of the
medium of your money machines. Purely IMO.

9. John Reese is one of my favorite internet marketers. I
think he is a genius.

He said, basically, creating pages for the search engines is
like playing the lottery. Use multiple types of page
generating programs, change templates, gather as many
keywords as you can, and build as many pages as you can.
Some pages will rank better than others, but as algorithms
change, other pages of yours will begin ranking higher as
others lose rank. Make sense?

10. The person with the most pages on the most domains,
wins. Well... mostly.

There are some people who make a
killing on the internet even though they pretty much suck at
the whole thing. Why? Numbers. They make a bunch of money
based on pure quantity. Now imagine if they actually knew
what they were doing!

So YOU should treat your internet marketing like an actual
business. That means study all the time; test, track and
tweak; realizing it takes money to make money; leveraging
technology in your favor; outsource.

No matter what you are doing on the net -- selling through a
Yahoo Store, infoproducts, ANYTHING -- owning multiple
domains will get you further ahead of your competition.

And to leverage technology in your favor, get reseller
hosting. With reseller hosting you have 1 main control
panel to set up webspace for an unlimited number of domains.
It's what people who want to start their own web hosting
business use, but I suggest you use it for your own
purposes.

It's not expensive either. In fact, reseller hosting often
costs just as much as regular hosting for 1 site! It crazy
to not get reseller hosting these days.

Reseller accounts are CHEAP and very reliable here. I
personally have 6 reseller acounts with these guys.

One of the best things I like is you can start with the
cheapest package and upgrade it with more space as you grow,
so you never pay more than you need. And did I say they
start CHEAP?

Now some of you may have heard that I talked to John Reese
about this subject, and I did.

However, he published our discussion in his monthly internet
marketing magazine, The Reese Report, so I can't quote
anything to you without breaking the terms of agreement.

But what I can tell you is, if John had told me that using
scrapes was a bad idea, and I shouldn't use them, I
wouldn't. But you already know that I do, and will continue
to, use scrapes. So what does that tell you. :)

I also talked to Google about all of this. I send them two
links -- one to a page with a menu bar going down the left
side, and an article as the content; the second with that
same content, but with a table right underneath everything
that contained search engine scrapes withough links, and all
in 1 big paragraph. The scrapes weren't hidden at all, they
were RIGHT there.

Google said, "Thanks for your email. I can confirm that both
of your pages are currently compliant with our program
policies."

Just because the pages aren't "breaking" Google's rules
doesn't mean they like them. Hell, they are a private
company, they can do whatever they want to. I don't think
using thses types of pages will get you banned, but they
pages will slowly get delisted. That's just the reality of
the situation, and what you should do about it is to keep on
building on an increasing number of domains.

If you don't have Traffic Equalizer, you should get it.
It's a *fantastic* program.

Next, I'm going to re-release to my step-by-step guide for
optimizing webpages.

The tips I'll be explaining to you routinely get pages
ranked as #1 in Google, Yahoo and MSN.
