Issue #7
Title: "Text vs. HTML Email -- The Age Old Struggle."
"How to Find More Niches Than You Can Deal With."
Hi, I hope you are taking action with
what you are learning. Not just from me, but from all internet
marketing resources that you are paying attention to.
Things will make better sense if you do it as you read it.
Don't try to fully understand something before you try it,
there is always room to make up for mistakes made. But don't
sit on your ass doing nothing because you're afraid of
making those mistakes.
Enough being a damn cheerleader for now. We all need a pick-
me-up and a reminder to keep moving, but I've got too much
going on to be verbose about it.
What do I have going on? Targeting niche's, that's what.
Writing a salesletter more specifically. Copy writing is
your #1 skill.
Finding niche's is easy; getting products can be a bit
harder, but do-able; making a website, easy; setting up
security, puh-leez; writing the salesletter, now THAT is
hard.
99% of salesletters on the internet suck. Yeah, people may
make some money with it, but if they studied the art and put
some real effort into it, they could make much, much more.
A shitty salesletter can't sell even a kick ass product.
But a kick ass salesletter can even sell shitty products
(but don't, please).
Study copyrighting more than anything else. We will get to
that in our "Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's the Marketing
Plan" series and spend the most time on it, but don't wait
for that. Study, study, study.

Text vs. HTML Email
=========================
Ain't this one of those battles that we all fight? Quit
fighting and just use text.
I know, I know... HTML gives you better control over how
things look, tracking, etc., but STILL use text.
Why?
- Text is friendly. 100% of people can view it, not
everyone can view HTML email.
- What you see is NOT what you get. Just because the html
message is formatted nicely for you, doesn't mean it will be
for Jane or Bob.
- SPAM filters eat up HTML message. The simple fact of
sending an HTML message drastically increases the chance of
it being blocked.
I had a conversation about this with Joni Solis, a fellow
AIMN reader. She sent me the following link:
Five Shocking Truths About Email Marketing
http://www.emaildoctor.info/fivetruths1.html
Let's have a round of applause for Joni, because this is
good info. Please take the time and read all 5 laws -- this
is important stuff.

Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's the Marketing Plan
Part 2: Finding a Niche
=========================
Here is your #1 tip for this: Don't start out in the "how to make
money/internet marketing niche."
I know this is a comfortable place for lots of people,
because you feel you know it better than any other niche,
but the learning curve is very steep here.
In the internet marketing niche, you will be going up
against John Reese, Yanik Silver, Jim Edwards and many other
goliaths. I know we all love the underdog, but Goliath kicks
David's ass on a regular basis. Don't be
"David" and don't go up against any Goliaths right now. There are
virtually unlimited niches, so go find the ones that you can
dominate and practice with
Now how do you find the niche?
I'm sure we've all heard to go around and talk to people,
join groups, read forums, interview hobby groups... Holy
shit, whoever came up with that method must have more free
time on their hands then you and I combined. You may want to
do some of that to research a niche you already know is
active and are targeting, but don't do it in the first place
to find out if the niche is active.
A better way is to brainstorm ideas. What interests you?
Write down hobbies, interests, categories. Consider all
subjects and create a list. Don't be shy to write down
anything you can think of. If Poop.com can be successful
niche, then go crazy with your list.
Go to a bookstore. Start at one end of it and write down
subjects that catch your eye. By the time you get to the
other end of the store, you'll have a butt load of topics.
While you are at the bookstore, go to the magazine rack.
Start at one end and work your way down. Don't just look at
the titles either, actually open some up and look through
the ads. You are bound to find three times as many topics
inside the magazines then just looking at the titles alone.
Go to Amazon.com and browse their store too. Just so you
know, when you go to the main page of each category, the top
selling items are listed right there.
Go to NewsDirectory.com and browse there too.
Seriously, if you don't have a big ass list after doing only
two of these methods, you need to loosen up man.
Next issue we will discuss how to QUALIFY the niche. I'll
teach you common (and effective) ways to find out if it is
active and worth targeting. I'll even tell you how I
personally qualify the niche. My method is great, and
it will give you information critical for your success all
the while. Most other methods of qualifying a niche can not
do this.
Until next time,

- You NEED multiple websites to succeed with internet

one seperately.
- Divide HUGE amounts of web space and bandwidth among
your domains however you decide.
- Imagine being able to register a domain name on a whim,
then set up hosting for it without paying extra.
