Issue #8

Title: "The Question Issue."

In an earlier issue, I said I would tell you a great way
to qualify niches to see if they are good to sell to. I
want to, but the only way to do it right it to spend lots of
time. However, I don't want to waste my time or money doing
that if you don't care.

So my question is, would you be willing to pay $20 for me to
show you, step by step, a fantastic way to qualify niches --
plus get extra info you need to write the salesletters and
backend products (or heck, even the product itself)?

You'll save time, and discover the technique many pro's have
been using for years without telling you.

Let me know. Just hit reply or email me at

The Good Question
=========================
"hi --- I have run brick and mortar businesses for 30 yrs --
- after learning the basics these businesses were easy to
run --- why is the internet require 'secret knowledge' to be
successful --- in the business world if you have a product
that people need and can expose that product ( advertise )
they buy it --- why isn't internet marketing working the
same way --- why does google and the rest have such control
over the so called 'free internet' --- why isn't there a
better way --- I grew up with the 'yellow pages' and this
was a great way to find businesses that you were looking for
--- unfortunately this was mostly local businesses --- why
hasn't someone created a better way than the way search
engines work --- the yellow pages were alphabetical and that
made businesses easy to find --- I know this sounds a little
old fashion but if it works why change it --- in my opinion
the internet & the yellow pages should work better than the
printed local books

p.s. --- your approach is refreshing --- you can't offend me
if you are telling me the truth --- I may not agree but I
respect your opinion and will listen to what you say"

Great question(s), Sam.

Do you want to know 99% of all "secret knowledge" that
internet marketers are selling? Here it is: strengthen your
fundamentals.

Yep, that's it.

Successful internet marketers are successful because they do
all the basics very well.

They do the fundamentals of finding niches to sell to (look
at magazines, newspapers, conferences, etc.).

They do the fundamentals of qualifying the niches
(Flycatcher pages, Ask Campaigns, search engine and
competition number crunching, etc.).

They study all the fundamentals of copywriting -- then
practice it and make it their own.

They do the fundamentals of getting traffic (links, JV's,
articles, PPC, feeder sites, SEO, etc.).

And just because they are "fundamentals" or "basics" does
NOT mean they are easy to do right. They all take lots of
practice and tweaking as time goes on to get results. Hell
I struggled for years with the basics before I started
seeing a return. I just knew deep inside that it could
work, and didn't give up. And now those years of studying
and effort are paying off big.

Most people who fail, fail because they go around looking
for magic bullets. But the reality is, success in internet
marketing is nothing more than the sum of all the basics,
and how good you are at doing them.

What's the other 1% of the "secret knowledge?" Sure, there
are some really cool tricks that you will find out along the
way, and it's great to learn those, and there's nothing
wrong with asking for money to tell people. HOWEVER, I will
guarantee you that the secret is not the make-it-or-break-it
information you are looking for.

As far as the differences between brick-and-mortar
businesses and internet businesses? Very few. The selling
medium is different, the tools are often different, but the
marketing and salemanship is the same. Good business
practices and philosopy are the same, no matter what medium
your business uses.

And for the other stuff about Google, the yellow pages and
things. Well, that's just technology. Eventually someone
will develop another innovative solution... I agree, there
must be a better way. But I'm not qualified to engineer it.
Are you?

AIMN Subscriber Question
=========================
Nicole, a fellow AIMN subscriber, asked me what I thought
about the software program SEO Elite.

Here's my thoughts: If you are totally hardcore about
learning SEO and pinpointing a number of specific
competitive keywords, then I'm sure it would be useful.

The software is more of a research tool to find out WHY
competition ranks for a keyword (back links, PR, anchor
text, IP addresses, etc.) so you know what to do for your
own site to rank higher than them for the same keyword. If
you wanted to be #1 for really competitive keywords, then
yes, this program would help you accomplish that.

The program also features a REALLY cool link swap feature.

However, I personally prefer going ultra-wide and using a
few basic SEO techniques for targeting thousands upon
thousands of keywords for a particular niche (often called
"low-hanging fruit") rather than spending all my time trying
to dominate a few very competitive keywords within that
niche.

If you are really interested in learning SEO, including
advanced techniques, the #1 product in my opinion is
Stomping the Search Engines. I've listened to those audio
discs maybe 10 times each. They're all full of great
information, plus they've updated the package since I got it
a while back.
